YARN MARKET CRAFT COTTAGE - COBB & CO COACH HOUSE

The Yarn Market Craft Cottage and Cobb & Co Coach House

The Craft Cottage is situated next to the Village Green in the main street of Molong NSW and has been operating for forty years in 2012 - We are open seven days a week from 10 am to 4.30 pm and visitors are always welcome

The Information Centre is incorporated in our beautiful c1860 Cottage and our volunteers are always available to assist    There is a detailed brochure listing the historic sites of the township with many of the original olde-world buildings beautifully maintained

We have Crafts of ALL KINDS, made by our members - quilts, knitting for all members of the family, baby goods, wooden toys and carvings, bead work, patchwork, paintings, jams, pickles and biscuits, and lots more ........   Special Christmas and Mother's Day gifts

This is also the home of the Bi-Centennial Embroidered Screen of Molong which is in situ in the c1875 Cobb & Co Coach House which sits on the Village Green together with the three remaining walls of the original horse stable    We have a magnificent collection of antique laces which are periodically displayed on the mezzanine floor

Groups, coaches and passing visitors are able to listen to the narration of the history of Molong and morning, afternoon and lunches can be served with prior arrangements - please contact the Yarn Market on 02 6366 8260

There are also three beautiful patchwork quilts representing the 40th Anniversary of the Yarn Market - with some seventy squares which have been embroidered, beaded, patchworked, painted, laced, and more, these present as a wonderful representation of the wide range of crafts that are covered in the Cottage       Exhibitions are on the mezzanine floor of the Coach House    There are various craft workshops held during the year

This old historic building has timbers from the original woolshed at Larras Lake, bricks from the old butter factory and beautiful original sandstone and bluestone walls, together with ceiling lined in solomite    The Yarn Market purchased the then, dilapidated old building and restored it to it's present condition - a new sunroom has recently been completed

We invite you to visit our Yarn Market Craft Cottage and Cobb & Co Coach House when visiting the Central West
