Members of the Yarn Market Association Ltd celebrated the 40th Anniversary of the day the Cottage opened for trading back in 1972 - events have been held over the past eight months for various anniversary events and was the finale - a wonderful attendance of sixty guests, some having travelled quite some distance      Each person present received a momento of the day in the form of a calico carry bag with an emblem of the Yarn Market Cottage - this original art work was by local artist Alex Ambros around the early 1980's

One of our foundation members, Mary Beadle was seated on the main table together with three ladies from WhichCraft of Murrumburrah-Harden which was the first craft cottage in New South Wales in 1971, just six months prior to our foundation ladies, June Kirby, Ruth Tonkin and Mary Beadle visitng their Cottage and gaining basic and important information for the formation of our own organisation    One of the original members from WhichCraft present, was Mary Norton-Knight who welcomed our 'Big Three'  in 1972  Also present were her friends Joy Keefe and Brenda McDonald       President Nancy Dalziel, Patrons Launa Boucher and Kelvin Marriott joined these ladies on the main table

The catering ladies of the Molong Ladies Bowling Club provided a great baked dinner and yummy sweets with students from Molong Central High School attending to our guests - they all did a wonderful job      Prior to the formal proceedings, the Molong Central School Senior Band entertained our visitors, playing on the stage of the Cobb & Co Stables - a great group and we hope to hear more of their music around town

A special thanks to the Junior Choir from the school, who sang two songs so beautifully - they were just gorgeous and concentrated so hard
Thank you to Principal, Janis Glasson, and her dedicated teachers for allowing the children to help us celebrate our special day

40TH ANNIVERSARY MEMBERS QUILTS:     Members were asked some months ago to 'do their thing' on an eight inch calico square - these came back some six weeks or so later and Marilyn McCann assembled them into three magnificent quilts     These will be on display in the Cobb & Co Coach House permanently,(together with the renowned Bi-Centenial Embroidered Screen)  so please call and check out the crafts and interesting designs, even the gents 'did their thing' !

Various functions were held during the year, a selection of photos appear here - members of the Yarn Market celebrated the 40th Anniversary for many months and enjoyed every second
