This rustic old-world sign sits on the Gidley Street end of the Cobb & Co Coach House to invite passing visitors to call in to see our historic building and what it presents to the visitor on the inside
The carver of the letters was Phillip
McKenzie - a GREAT job Phillip - thank you so much, just what we wanted - thanks to Narelle also for oiling and oiling and oiling..........
The log after engraving, was passed onto Darren Whipple with the help of Barry Carr and his tractor and together
with Harry Whipple and David Mills (welder) we now have this magnificent sign to add to the historic site - many hours spent in design work I believe - and with no help available, Darren improvised so well with his equipment, to get this log off the trailer
and into the correct position, today Friday 14 December 2012 - there is some more work to be done, perhaps a garden around the sign, a little levelling up and an oil job .........
THANK YOU SINCERELY EVERYONE .............IT LOOKS JUST GREAT !!!!!!!
UPDATE 2018: The sign had deteriorated somewhat over the last couple of years, so it was stripped back to the original lettering, splits filled with the sawdust and glue, letters cut in, and many coats of varnish - still a couple
to go, but it just too cold at the moment - bit it looks so much better already ............ Thank you Brent
Your comments would be appreciated ..............
