A presentation of an 1884 christening gown

A new addition has been added to our wide selection of antique laces, gowns and christening robes        A beautiful lace christening gown worn by Gordon Bowers, of Tunbridge Wells, Kent, England in 1884

His daughter Helen Joy Bowers also wore this gown in 1922 for her christening in Seven Oaks, Kent and in 1953 her son Ian Fraser McManamey, of Avalon, NSW wore it for his christening

Mrs Joy McManamey of Orange NSW,  donated this and two of her own baby dresses, to the Yarn Market Antique Lace Collection in September 2013  -  together with a magnificent complete 'Work Station" of her dear mum's, which is on show with all it intricate collection of 'bits and pieces', in the window of the Old Butcher's Shop, next door to the Yarn Market Craft Cottage, in Bank Street, Molong

We thank you sincerely Joy for your wonderful kindness and we will treasure your treasures and exhibit them as often as we can
